I choose to interpret figure as landscape in a few different ways for this project. In the first, I used the defined features of muscle in order to mimic the natural contours and grooves of natural landscape. When viewed closeup and with dramatic lightning, a pair of flexed legs can look like mountains, or canyons or banks of a river. My second interpretation again involved a closeup but instead focused on finding an already existing highly detailed, crowded diaroma-like figure. In this case I choose Hayden Bortz's shoes due to thee high contrast and detail. Lastly, my final two photos focused on taking a picture of figure with a particular focus on the face, treating the face almost like a forest or in the final picture like the Earth itself. I was particularly drawn to the way shadows and light dramatized facial features.
